Nuffnang and PLDT MyDSL: The Avengers Screening

My night ended with another awesome movie, The Avengers, thanks to Nuffnang and PLDT MyDSL. I have anxiously waited so much for this movie. And you know what? It's worth the wait! HAHA! :D You guys know that I'm not a spoiler so I won't tell any part of it. It's just so AWESOME! haha!

Anyway, the screening was held at Shangri-La Cineplex. I got there early. I roamed around then actually thought that I was at the wrong venue. HAHA! I can't see any Nuffies around! :O I totally forgot which cinema! LOL! So I searched again and saw the tarpaulin standees of PLDT MyDSL. And there it was! :D

Literally, huh? LOL

Minutes passed then Deej and our friends arrived. While we were waiting for the registration, we saw 2 cosplayers coming out. They were Iron Man and The Hulk. When people saw them, they gathered around and asked for pictures, specially the kids. But of course, we wouldn't let the chance pass by having pictures with them. So we kids, I mean Deej and I, (haha!) asked for pictures too. hehe...

Clash of the kids? :P haha!

Now, that's more like it! haha!

Enough with the pictures, it's time for registration! When we registered, it's like signing an attendance sheet in school. HAHA! They even got my name wrong which I ironically think is cool since Black Widow's real name in the movie was Nastasha. HAHA! Yeah! :D Then, we got our reserved tickets wherein we got to pick our seats. Yay! But wait, there's more! HAHA! We also had a gift pack and a cupcake. :D hihi... The gift pack contains a pen, notebook, ID lace and a pin.

During registration

Tickets. I forgot to take a picture before it was torn. :P haha!
This is the gift pack.

My bloody smashed cupcake. HAHA! :P Oh poor thing!

Tadaa~

We also had a chance to grab some pictures at the photo booth. They said we can go back anytime as long as we want to so we tried it twice. LOL! :P haha! *Forgot to take a picture of the other one though. :-/ *

Photo bombing. Special participation of Deej. :P haha!

The doors opened at 8:30pm. Before the movie, there was a mini contest and rewarding of winners- gift packs for the winners while 'trendy' flash drives for the contest winners. Too bad because I almost won. Yeah! ALMOST! The question was about the name of the boy who sang the "Anna Banana" song from PLDT's commercial. I shouted the right name! Unfortunately, they asked for the full name and I forgot it! Oh man! What's with me today! I forget a lot today! HAHA! Oh well... Maybe it's just not my luck. hehe... Shortly after that, the movie started. And since I'm not a spoiler, my blog ends here. :P HAHA!

It was an awesome night. I enjoyed the movie so much and happy to be with my friends. But I sure hope that there'll be more food next time. :P haha! Once again, thank you Nuffnang and PLDT. I so love Nuffnang! Hope you have more events like this. :) Toodaloo~ :)

Canon Pixma Printer Product Launch

I got an exclusive invite last week from Nuffnang for Canon's PIXMA Printer Product Launch which was held last night at SM North Edsa Annex Cyber Zone Event Area. The sad part of this event was that I arrived late. :( But I still got a chance to join the raffle when I filled up a small entry form upon signing up at the receiving table with the Nuffnang Nuffees. :) I was also given a name tag and 2 stubs for the meal and drink. And boy, was the food good! Haha! Thanks to Las Paellas Cafe! :) I was a little nervous and shy that time because I was all alone and I don't know the bloggers there. Also, given that I was late, there was an on-going game when I arrived so I timidly took pleasure of the food at the cater and ate at the standing tables at the back. hihi... But still, I tried to enjoy the event by myself because it was an exclusive opportunity. :) hihi... Oh by the way! Here's a snapshot of the food on my plate. :D hihi...

Yummy! :)

While I was eating, the game amused me. It was a "Scan and Print" game where 3 groups with 2 members each competed. The grand prize were printers and watches while the consolations prizes where just the watches. Oh man! How I wished I arrived early! HAHA! After that the Canon PIXMA Ambassadors- Jon Avila, Per-Andre Hoffmann and Mariano "Jun" Miranda, where called on stage to talk about their works and present the best picture they have  ever printed.

Ms. Honey (the host), Mr. Hoffmann (on the screen too), Mr. Avila and Mr. Miranda
(Right to Left)

I admired the picture taken by Mr. Hoffmann most. It was a picture of the statue, Christ the King from Brazil, amongst the clouds. Can you imagine that? :D hehe... He said that he took the picture from a helicopter where he dangerously positioned himself along the skids of the helicopter. I took a photo of his work displayed at the exhibit as well as the works of Mr. Avila and Mr. Miranda.

Christ the King by Mr. Hoffmann. Cool, isn't it? :D

Mr. Jun Miranda's display

Mr. Jo Avila's display

Mr. Per-Andre Hoffmann's display. LOL that hand. HAHA!

Before the event ended, there was a raffle wherein 5 lucky winners will take home a Canon printer. Wow! Also, the winner for the bloggers who sent their best picture they have ever printed was announced. Unfortunately, the winner wasn't there so they just decided to contact her.

Picking the winners for the raffle

After the raffle, all the people scrammed! HAHA! After the event, a band played. I stayed behind, took a few photos and asked about some printers because my dad (me too!) is planning to buy a new printer. My dad wanted to ditch our HP printer and replace it with a Canon printer. LOL.

Printers on display

The band playing some songs. hehe...

Oh before I forgot! I took a photo of the cater from Las Paellas Cafe. LOL! :D

No more people. LOL

To my surprise, you could have your pictures printed at the printers displayed at the event for FREE! And it doesn't matter how many prints you want! I was very overwhelmed because colored prints are a little expensive. hehehe... Too bad I don't have my good pictures with me in my flash drive. :( Oh how I wished I had them that time! HAHA! Good thing there's my memory card. *wink* I tried the new Canon PIXMA MG8270 which costs Php19, 295 (approx. $447). It was very impressive. It has a 3.5-inch LCD display where the staff that helped me controlled the pictures from my memory card. Cool, eh? I got the chance to use it! HAHA! I chose the pictures that I liked and then voila! Here's the sample of the prints.

Nice quality, right? Never mind the flash. LOL
I'm so happy I've got my babies' picture printed. :) <3 Mama loves you! Mwah!

What's cool about this printer was you can also use it wirelessly. Yup! You've read it right! It has Wi-Fi technology wherein you can directly print the pictures straight from your cellphone, tablet or any computer without the cables. Cool, isn't it? Makes me want to purchase it if only I have the money. HAHAHA! :D

Before going out, each attendee were given a bag of goodies from Canon and Rudy Project. It has a coin purse attached to it. hehe... It also has a ballpen, a post-it, a Rudy Project pouch and a Rudy Project wallet (I guess). It has card slots, an opening in the middle and a zipped pouch at its back which sounds like a wallet to me. :P hehe...

Oh, I love the bag and the goodies!

When I got out, I saw a wall full of pictures. That was just the time when I realized that those were the pictures sent by the invited bloggers. LOL! I'm so slow that day. HAHAHA!

Guess where mine is! LOL

Our picture from my 1st mountain trek. Very memorable. :)
Sorry for erasing my whole name. :P hehe...

To my mistake, I sent a picture that was the best memorable picture for me, not the best picture I ever printed. I just want to bump my head with my stupidity. LOL. But I guess it was just not for me. Maybe I'll get lucky in some way or other events from Nuffnang. :D

Oh by the way! Canon PIXMA is giving away fashionable Rudy Project Sprint Sets (sports watch + arm band) worth Php4,300 starting October 15. For every purchase of a Canon PIXMA printer including 4 Canon Genuine inks or a Canon PIXMA E500. Promo ends on December 31. It's perfect for running enthusiasts. Take a look at it!

This was at the back of the brochure given.
Oh now I remember where I stuck my name tag. :P HAHAHA!

And that is the brochure. LOL

Since I was late, I read the brochure to know more about Canon PIXMA Printers aside from the information I've asked from the friendly staffs at the event. I've learned that Canon Printers also considered that their products were eco-friendly like allowing users to print a double-sided document which saves paper and is more typically specially for students, like me. *wink*  These printers also has the Quick Start feature which conserves electricity. Wow! That's thumbs up for the environment, right? GO GREEN! Yeah! Oh I'm getting so convinced to buy one! HAHAHA!

Anyhow, I would like to send my deepest gratitude to Canon for the overwhelming and wonderful event. Thanks to the friendly staffs as well. :) Thanks to Rudy Project as well! :) And of course, Thank you Nuffnang for the opportunity and invite. It surely is an exclusive feeling! Thank you so much!!! And more power to Canon, Rudy Project and Nuffnang!!

Just Before Classes Start

We enrolled yesterday so all we have to do is wait for classes to start which will start this Monday. LOL. Fast, isn't it? Well for your info, I am studying at a trimestral school. My regular readers already know it. :) Raise your hand if you're one of them. LOL! Usually, students taking their thesis have shorter vacation or term breaks than those who do not because of the defense schedules and some extensions.

Yesterday, my friend and I decided to go out because her parents don't know that she has no classes anymore. HAHA! I agreed but I was in a hurry that time so we had no time to talk about where we will go. She didn't text me either. I just assured myself that we will go out. haha...

This afternoon, she dropped by here and waited as I fix myself, then we left. We still didn't know where we were going until we rode the jeep. haha... While at the jeep, we talked where to go and got some pictures. We were the only passengers. haha... We decided to go to Fort Santiago and feel like tourists in our own country. For me, it's one way to enjoy and appreciate your own country, culture and history. Lucky for us I brought my camera. *wink*

We only paid Php50 (approx. $1.14) at the entrance for students who will present their valid ID. We took some pictures and walked around. We saw there the works of our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. We were so amazed at his works. We didn't just gazed, we stared! We were so impressed at his hand writing! He has a very beautiful cursive hand writing. HAHAHA! We actually envy it specially knowing that they only use plumes and ink back then. No pencils and pens! HAHA! I also took some pictures of his work but since camera flashes were not allowed inside the hall, the picture were kinda dark. I won't change the brightness of the pictures. I'll just share a few pictures that I think will tell you a bit of our mini trip there. :)

Tourists. Local and foreign. :)
Towards the Museum Hall. Peace! :D hehe

My friend on Rizal's footsteps. LOL

Upon entering

I don't think this needs a caption. HAHA!

This one too.

The lamp :D

After that, we ate then lied down at the walls of Intramuros. We chat, shared stories and problems. We left when the guard started roaming around telling all the people there that the time is up for the visitors of the historical landmark. They usually close, or maybe I might say that they do not allow visitors anymore when the clock hits 6:30 in the evening. Besides, it's already dark that's why we left as well specially that it's already winter solstice. :) The air was already cold. bbrrr! haha... It was also more peaceful and quiet up there. It's like you're not in a city or a province in a city. I enjoyed it though we only have a few peso in our pockets. HAHA! It was cheap but it was definitely worth it. :)

How about you? Any historical trips to share? :)

- I'm feeling sleepy with my eyes barely open as I type this down. LOL!
- I didn't put some of my good pictures here. I think I'll post it on my photo blog which I was fixing earlier and launching soon. :)

Off-season Vacation

I know this is not the right time to be on a vacation specially with the rainy weather these days but I did it on impulse. LOL! This is the continuation of my post yesterday. :)

Yesterday, my friends and I went to Bulacan to relax and unwind. I always mention that our thesis is really stressful, right? But before that, we worked on our thesis first the whole night. The next day, we met with our friend and went to their house in Bulacan. On our way there, we always gaze at some of the beautiful and big houses, and joked that it was the house of a Mayor or a high government official. LOL. It was a long trip but when we were getting near, we joked that it was our classmate's house and just laugh it away. Our classmate just smiles at us. :)

We alighted the bus and waited for his parents to pick us up. Luckily for them, they have a photographer wannabe. So while waiting for them, we took some photos along the road. :)

Finally, they arrived. We had a few stopover which we always thought that it was there house not knowing that they were just buying some food and merchandise. And because of that, we always ask and joke if we're there already. Then one time, we slowed down and stopped at a villa mansion. We joked that it was a Mayor's house, AGAIN! HAHAHAHAHA!! Our classmate stepped out and approached the gate. He opened it then rode again. We were surprised at what he did while he remained silent and steady. We drove right into the villa! We were shocked! It was no joke! HAHA! It really was their house. Take a look below.

Can I hear a "WOW!"? HAHA!

It was lunchtime when we arrived so we ate tinola for lunch in their hut at the backyard. Funny but for me, any food cooked in the province even if it's a familiar food tastes much better than in the city. HAHA! I really enjoyed it and I felt like I ate a lot. LOL. We chat and took photos but with Deej's phone because my battery was down that time. After that, we showered and played in the rain. It was literally a wet afternoon. HAHA!

I called this the post card picture. LOL

The house was up the hill. We went down to get these pictures. The land property at the back is still owned by them. haha... Big, isn't it? We always see him as a jolly, funny guy who's always full of jokes yet stubborn and lazy sometimes. That's why it was shocking for us to know about their hidden asset. He was also silent about this and doesn't flaunt it. He just keeps on smiling whenever we call him haciendero. HAHA! Because of that, we secretly admired his humbleness. I even tagged him as one of the MOST humble people I've met. hehe...
The last trip was at 4:30 in the afternoon and since we have classes the next day (today), we can't stay for the night. *Sad* That's the sad part when you were enjoying yourselves and wished that you could stay longer...but you can't. The parents of our classmate invited us to come back and hoped that we could stay there for at least a night because they feel lonely there. We fixed ourselves and got ready for the journey back home. It was tiring yet overwhelming. We achieved what we aim for. We enjoyed, relaxed and had fun.

Today, I feel ready and pumped up to work on our thesis. Although at first, I've thought of strictly focusing on our thesis before going on any vacation, it really helped a lot that we took a time off while working on it. Now, I just pray that we finish it on time and pass our defense. :)
P.S. Thank you readers for your good luck comments. I really appreciate it. :)

Thesis Time-out

Today, 2 of my thesismates, Deej and I went on an adventure to unwind and relax ourselves from the stressful cities of the urban world. We were previously invited by the mother of one of my thesismate to spend the day or night just to have fun and unwind in their home at the province. I have a long story to tell but I'm already tired and sleepy. I also have to go to school tomorrow to work on our thesis. However, I can shed a light by sharing this photo below.

To be continued... See you tomorrow! :)

Nuffnang, Cowboys and Pizzas

It was one hot and fun-filled night thanks to Nuffnang and Pizzahut.Deej and I won 2 tickets for a free movie screening of Cowboys and Aliens last night at Gateway. Deej and I convinced one of our classmates to come but unfortunately she got sick yesterday while I tagged my mom along with me.

I woke up late so we met with Deej at Isetann around 6pm. We took the LRT2 because its the fastest way to get there. While I was in line to buy our train cards, I saw a Coke's booth full of people. Many people were going to and fro the booth and as they go, they have with them a can of Coke Zero. So, after buying the cards, I told my mom and Deej to come with me and check it out. And guess what? They're giving away those Coke Zero cans for free! Whoa! At this point, I feel like it will be a night full of freebies, not to mention our free movie. Yey!

At last, we arrived at Gateway after approximately 30 minutes. There were already a lot of bloggers and they were eating. There was a cater from Pizzahut Bistro that served Mozzarella sticks, Fries, Chicken Fillet and Iced Tea but the sauces were out. Well maybe that's what you get when you're late. Oh, bother! And hey! There's no pizza?! Sadly, there was no pizza served but the cater was great. Oh! Unfortunately, my Clover cam is not at it's perfect performance that time that's why I only had a few pictures and my digital camera has no battery. *Sigh!*

Taken from my Clover cam and edited the contrast and brightness.

We just took a few pictures then we fell in line. As the line walks towards the theater, there were Pizzahut riders protesting against late and cold delivered pizzas. LOL! We can actually hear them while we were still eating that's why we were surprised, amazed and giggling when we finally knew what it was all about. HAHAHA! Well I have to say that they got everybody's attention and they did it well. LOL. Each of us were also given a Pizzahut Hot Dot sticker, free popcorn and bottled water but still no pizza. LOL.

Inside the theater, they had some introductions and speeches like the ones before but this one was off the hook. There was a surprise special performance by the Pizzahut riders, the ones protesting outside. LOL. They got inside the theater and dance for all of us. It was so much fun! Who could imagine they've got skills? HAHA! The theater was full of laughs and applauses from the speeches to the performance. After their performance, we get to experience the new Hot Dot sticker from Pizzahut which tells you if the delivered pizza is still hot or not by amazingly revealing the HOT word on the sticker. Unbelievable? Well watch this. This video was taken from my phone wherein the Hot Dot sticker changed from black to HOT. HAHA! Anyway, sorry for the low quality. The audio has a bad quality that's irritating to the ears so I think it's best if you just turn it off. hehe...

That's a lot of stickers, eh? haha...

Aside from the sticker given upon entering the theater, we were also given brochures with discount coupons.
Sticker galore. LOL.

And guess what? After that, they gave us the pizza! Yey! We got a whole box! LOL! The 3 of us shared it but one of the guests along our seat was a little late and asked her friends how they got the pizza. We shared her our pizza which she was thankful. :) You've got to share your blessings, right? After all, we have a box. hehe... A few more words from Pizzahut's superiors then the show started.

No more details about the movie. Maybe I'll share it with my movie review. You know I'm not a spoiler, right? :D teehee... All I can say is that the movie was great. It was unexpectedly good because I personally don't have any intentions of watching it. I'm just after the new experience that Nuffnang will bring me with this event. hehe... But all in all, it was another satisfying night brought to us by Nuffnang. :) 'Til the next event! *wink!*

Nuffnang and PLDTmyDSL Special Movie Screening

First of all I'd like to thank Nuffnang and PLDTmyDSL for the wonderful experience and the chance to watch Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon. I was really happy to have that movie date with my mom. :) It was awesome that I don't know how and where to start my story. LOL!

Okay, first off! The movie screening was held at Shangri-la Mall Cineplex around 7 in the evening but the winners should be there at 6pm.

Earlier that day my thesismate and I had an appointment regarding our thesis which made me a little tired. In the afternoon, I met up with my mom at the LRT station so we can go to the venue together. Unfortunately, the train we rode was defective so after 2 stations, we had to alight and wait for another train. WHAT THE?! Imagine how many people were inside that DEFECTIVE train! PLUS the people waiting at the platform! Oh c'mon! But we can't do anything about it, right? So we just eagerly wait for a train to ride. It took us an hour to get to the MRT station because the defective train barely moved and kept us inside while their technicians are checking it for problems. Good thing, we arrived at the venue exactly 6pm even though the MRT train was jam packed. HAHA!

We entered the mall through the MRT station then while walking towards the Cineplex, I saw Jennylyn Mercado with Luis Manzano! I looked back at my mom, who was a few steps behind me, and moved my mouth telling her that Jennylyn and Luis were inside a shop. She didn't get it so she approached me then asked. After telling it to her, she simply walked back passing the shop then returning to me but of course she looked at the shop. She said Jen giggled when she noticed her passing and looking at Jen. HAHA! Though we already saw Jen before, years ago, I still adore seeing her. :) hihi...

We got to the Cineplex but there were no group of people. I'm surprised but when I saw a lady wearing a nametag with a Nuffies header, I approached her and asked. She told me that it was upstairs and I have to register first. So up we go and voila! Oh, there they are! And hey, there are Transformers cosplayers! Yey! HAHA! At the registration table, I saw stickers with names. They asked for my name and my companion's which they wrote on a separate sticker. They gave me the tickets and told me to get the sticker with my name on and place it anywhere I want. hihi... The lovely girls from PLDT gave me 2 id lanyards. Yey freebies! My camera's faulty that time so I didn't notice that my picture holding my prizes wasn't captured. :( huhu... But I took a picture of them when we got home so you can check it out below. :)

At the registration

Pretty cool, huh? :)

The lady at the table told me that there is a buffet and a photo booth for all. But I didn't hear her clear so I don't know where it is. :P HAHAHA! We looked for it downstairs because we can't see it there although we didn't search thoroughly. :P hehe... I was hungry as well so we bought popcorn, drinks and hotdog, for my mom. When we got up, we saw people eating at some tables. We walked through and there we saw the buffet! I was like, "OH MAN!". It was late but unfortunately we already bought our food and we can't do anything about it AGAIN. Yet, we still ate the foods they serve and saved ours for the movie. :P hoho! They serve finger foods but it made me full already given that I'm hungry. LOL! Here's the buffet food.

It's kinda blurry. Sorry. :(

The standing tables were all occupied and full so we just settled at the near ledge. LOL. Nothing to be ashamed of even if there were rich people in the venue but it serves us more comfortable and we also saw someone do it that's why we just did it as well. HAHA! I'm not a food blogger or an expert but from what I've tasted I can somewhat tell the ingredients of those finger foods. :) I'm pretty sure that the iced tea is not Nestea because I love that brand. lol. I think it's Lipton. :) The kebab-like is composed of a cucumber and a sausage(not sure, or maybe bologna?), I think. There is also a baked potato as small as a fishball. LOL. The pizza-like consist of fish fillet, tomato, and... I forgot. HAHA! The wrap has chicken meat in it with that green leafy veggie. I think it's lettuce. All in all, it was gooood. :) Here's a clearer shot below but with our drink and the hotdog. HAHA!

I think you know it even without the blur. LOL

After eating, we just didn't waste time and grab some pictures with the cosplayers. I've got pictures from all of them. :) hihi...

 Bumblebee, my favorite :)

Sentinel Prime

Optimus Prime, my 2nd fave :)

Megatron

While we were eating, I saw the photo booth the lady was talking about but I forgot about it after eating and we will be shortly entering the cinema when I remembered it. :( We were near the doors waiting. The previous screening ended and I was just looking at the people coming out when I saw Carlo Gonzales among them. *Hah!* I just can't tell if I'm lucky or not because I see celebrities when I least expect them yet talk about our troubles that day. HAHA!

Before the movie started, 3 bloggers were rewarded for having a creative post. They also conducted a contest to give others a chance to win some cool prizes. Unfortunately, I didn't win but what I'm really after is the movie screening. :) And guess what! Pia Arcangel is in the cinema with her husband, Mico Halili. She's so beautiful. I'm just a newbie with Nuffnang's event so I'm not familiar with other bloggers and I was surprised that he is a blogger, as well as Patty Laurel. Well, here's a sneak peak of the mini introduction program. After that, the movie started.

Can you see the prizes? :)

It's only my second time joining an event from Nuffnang but I can already tell, even with my first experience, that it's so much fun and really unforgettable. Once again, Thank you Nuffnang and PLDT. Hope to be involved in another fun-thrilling experience, and more power. :)
